How to do the Body Row

The body row is going to work your pulling muscles in a similar fashion to the bent over row except that you use your body weight as resistance. You could also set up a barbell across the power rack if you did not want to use rings. You need something to use as an anchor for your hands, so use the barbell or rings, whichever makes you most comfortable. How to do the Body Row
You will want to put your body in a plank position. You will need to lay back with the rings or the barbell over you and your hands over your chest. This means that your head should be on one side of the rings or barbell and your feet should be on the other side. You will want to make a pulling motion with your arms so that you are pulling your body up before letting it fall back down. Make sure that you get the full range of motion. At the bottom your arms should be locked in the straight position. You should bend your arms all the way when you get to the top.
One helpful hint is arm placement. Your arms should be placed just to the outside of the shoulders if you want to get the best stretch possible.
The most common mistake that is made while doing this lift is not having a full range of motion. To correctly do this lift you must make sure that your arms go completely straight at the bottom of this lift and you must also make sure that your arm completely contracts at the top of the movement.
Another common mistake is arching your back or not staying completely straight with your back. In order to avoid injury and do the best lift possible, you must make sure that your back is completely straight.
