The Zizkov Television Tower dominates the Prague skyline. The tower was built from 1985 to 1992. The Zizkov Television Tower consists of three concrete pillars that supports the television transmitters, a restaurant and cafe, and three observation rooms. The tower is 709 feet high, has observation decks at the 328 foot level and the tower restaurant and cafe are situated in the lower pods at 207 feet. The elevators are equipped with speedometers and, transports passengers to the different levels at a rate of 4m/s. Besides being used as a television transmitter, the tower is also used as meteorological observatory.
