Perhaps because I had waaaaaaaay too much beer in my belly! As for the "lawless" nature of the place --- reminds me of finding myself in a warehouse full of jade & the uneasy feeling in my gut when I noticed the local thugs sizing me up. Not enjoyable! I was in Kowloon back in ‘68 but didn’t see this monstrosity! Perhaps because I had waaaaaaaay too much beer in my belly!
