Finding A Tent For Your Camping Trip
Camping continues to appeal to more and more people every year. Some decide to give it a try because their friends and family convince them to try and others are just looking for a new and affordable way to get away for the weekend. They look for cheap tents and set off in enthusiasm. However, sometimes getting a tent simply because it is cheap can lead to buyer’s remorse.
Your tent will be your sanctuary while you are camping. It will shelter you from the rain and it will be a place to call home. We need to make sure that the tent actually feels like home and if water is leaking in your tent, it isn’t going to be a place you want to be in. Most tents can withstand the weather fine, but tents that don’t have a rain fly or footprint might not be able to endure a sudden spring or summer storm.
A tent also isn’t going to feel like a home if it’s too small for you. Cabin tents are perfect for families because they offer a lot of space and tons of room. Many of these tents include 2 or 3 rooms so you can use them as separate rooms for campers or even as space to store your gear or put some camping furniture to play cards or even eat indoors if the weather outside is bad.
Backpackers are going to have a little different concern about the size of their tents and a cabin tent isn’t going to be as optimal because of the weight. Weight becomes a huge concern when you have to carry it so if you are backpacking too on your trip, you are going to want one that is lighter, more in the range of 5 lbs or less if you can find one in your price range.
Most importantly when you get a tent make sure you get one that you will be able to use for many years to come.
