Eternity Rings to Celebrate Enduring Love
Many women are hankering for an eternity ring, if they don’t already have one. The design is simple yet elegant, and the symbolism, sublime. The design is basically that of a simple band that has small stones – diamonds, originally, but of late, other precious gems have also become acceptable – evenly distributed around the entire band. Each stone is the same size adding to the manifestation of endlessness or eternity, hence the name.
Symbolically, eternity rings are traditionally given to signify a profound and never-ending kind of romantic love. I say traditionally because nowadays some women buy eternity rings for themselves just for the sake of fashion. An eternity ring can be given as engagement ring or used as a wedding band, but it was originally marketed to an older demographic, to couples who were already celebrating many years of marriage.
An eternity ring ideally has recessed channels along the band and the stones are set within them. Alternatively, it could also have a row of small prongs running along the outer part of the band. Understandably, the former is a more comfortable option than the latter. If a ring does sport prongs instead of recessed channels, then the other option for comfort is the half eternity ring, which has stones running only halfway around the band. The thing about a full eternity ring is that it is not easy to resize. It can be done, but at the expense of one of the stones. With a half eternity ring, resizing is more easily accomplished.
The idea behind the eternity ring has been around since time immemorial. The design may be different, but a ring signifying endless love has been in existence since the time of the early Egyptians. The modern concept, on the other hand, originated some decades ago to make a place in the market for Russia’s small diamonds.
In any case, if you’re a man wishing to give something to your woman to celebrate a long and enduring relationship, an eternity ring is the best option for you.
