worlds-oldest-man

Li Ching-Yun from The People’s Republic of China claimed to be the oldest person in the world! Li Ching-Yun supposedly died at the age of 256 years old.

According to his 1933 obituaries in both Time Magazine and the New York Times, Li Ching-Yun was reported to have buried 23 wives and fostered more than 180 descendants by the time of his death.

In 1930 a professor and dean at Minkuo University by the name of Wu Chung-chien, found records “proving” that Li was born in 1677. Records allegedly showed that the Imperial Chinese Government congratulated him on his 150th and 200th Birthdays.

So if all this is true Li Ching-Yun would have surpassed the official record for the longest person to live by over 130 years.

The current documented record for the longest living person is held by Jeanne Louise Calment, a French woman who died in 1997 she roamed the earth for over 122 years!

Who knows if the claims of Li Ching-Yun and the Imperial Chinese Government are true or not but it is one heck of a story and if it is true I feel sorry for him having been married 23 times!
