This is one of the coolest photographs of the French Concorde. It was taken during the full solar eclipse in 1973. On August 11, 1999 during another total eclipse three concordes one by Air France (AF4500) and two by British Airways (BA99S and BA91N) were the only civilian aircraft able to chase the eclipse. Reaching speeds of Mach 2 they were able to stay in the shadows umbra over Europe for 4 to 8 minutes. During this eclipse the shadows umbra was moving at about Mach 2.3
