If these pictures aren’t scary, I don’t know what is! I can’t stand spiders let alone a giant spider that is eating a bird. I am told that this is a golden orb weaver from Australia. I couldn’t even imagine having something like that outside of my house! I guess it is just another one of Australia’s weird animals!

When I saw your blog description as being dedicated to finding the strange & bizarre on the internet, I wondered if you considered me strange & bizarre (which I am) & that is why you made me your friend on blogcatalog!

I have always dreamed of visiting Australia. After seeing these pictures, not so much! I didn’t know spiders that large existed, much less that they could consme a bird! EEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hey Jerry!!!

I love this site. I just Stumbled you. This is THE best oddities site I’ve ever seen. :)

I used to live in the jungles in Queensland Australia and I saw a lot of these spiders. They are wild, but pretty much harmless to humans. They inject an enzyme that turns the insides of their prey to liquid and then they suck it out. OKAY!!! I know, that was more than you wanted to know!! LOLOLOL :)

I just got used to a lot of creepy crawlies living in the jungle. Nonetheless, these guys fascinated me. They have very strong webs. I used to walk into them sometimes by mistake, and would have brush both web and spider off me. They never bit me. I learned quickly to watch where I was walking because they depend on their web to catch food. What I learned to really watch out for was the poisonous snakes. But you learn how live with them and how to behave around them and they leave you alone. Usually they are gone before you even see them.

I am off to read about the “Indian Monkey Man” LOL Now, that intrigues me. This is a very cool site. I love stuff like this. Was also reading about the circles in the Sahara. Amazing isn’t it?!!

Take care and I’ll book mark you!

What a bizarre situation. Spiders aren’t my favorite anyway, this only adds to my phobia
