This is what it looks like when lightning strikes a 747. The lightning that struck this plane was harmless, but the people inside did hear the huge bang and crack of the thunder. All commercial aircraft are designed to evade lightning, so the lightning bounced off or through pockets in the aircraft making it appear like it went straight through.
No one on board was hurt.

This is an incredible series of pictures that show just how fast water can undermine a road and create a huge sink hole.
Check out these pics from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport after some pretty severe weather came through on September 13. The flooding was due to the remnants of Hurricane Ike dumping 6 1/2 inches of rain in a few short hours on the Chicago land area and a total of 8 to 12 inches over about a 40 hour period. It caused a lot of flooding throughout the area and closed several roads for days.
