If you have been looking around for a gun safe for over five seconds, you’ve been hit already with the several advertisements promoting that “this and that” gun safes are among the best since they are made in America. Basing on this standard, there are a number of manufacturers to select from. Sturdy Safe, Liberty, Fort Knox and Browning are the gun safe manufacturers who are taking pride of their products that are constructed in the United States with the use of US manufactured materials as well. But the question is, is this just a marketing scheme to spark the interests of many patriotic, or is there really something superior with American safes?

The answer is that there is superiority to the quality of American safe. When you compare, residential security units that are made in the USA are better. One, the competition is steeper within the country than any other markets in the rest of the world for the reason that there are lots of gun-toting citizens here. When you consider all the individuals who are responsible enough as they invest in some storage for their firearms, the demand is increased, and therefore, there are plenty of reasons why the manufacturers should come up with quality products.

The steel that is used to make the safes is better also. The US is definitely not the biggest steel producer in the world, and not even the best; but, they’re steel holds a high quality of tensile strength while being malleable to be formed into different highly engineered designs. Also, there is that huge tax on steel imports in the United States coming from other countries, so the manufacturers are able to save the money using the domestic products and keep the cost low in some areas.

In general, American safes are also better than the other safes in terms of design. Most companies who are outsourcing their labor manage to save a good amount of money in the process, but the quality is compromised. There is a significant break down to the quality control process, so it is common for safes to have falsely advertised features and hug construction flaws.

A gun safe is one serious investment, and one that shouldn’t be taken lightly. So don’t take other chances, go buy an American manufactured safe. For more information on gun safes, be sure to stop by this site. If you get locked out, need an upgrade, or a simple service call on your unit, you should get a locksmith for the job. If you live in the Columbus, OH area, here’s a great resource for finding a good Columbus locksmith.
