The DutchTub, a wood heated hot tub created by Floris Schoonderbeek. You just load up the water coils with firewood and after about 2 hours the water is heated up to around 100 degrees.

I don’t have any information on this Porsche, but it is one beautiful work of art. Almost to nice to drive! Naa.. I would drive it like I stole it!

This Harrier Jet’s landing gear wasn’t operating properly. So in this failed attempt to cushion the Harriers landing they placed several mattresses under it.

I have never seen anything like this before! The guy inside that excavator has a lot more guts than I do!

Sound mirrors were built by the Royal Engineers from 1916 to the 1930’s. The sound mirrors were part of an extensive Zeppelin and enemy aircraft detection system that was built down the east coast of Britain during the First and Second World Wars.

The sound of an approaching aircraft was reflected off the concave mirror surface, and received into a trumpet mounted on a steel column. The trumpet was connected to a stethoscope that was used by the operator of the mirror. The operator was then able to tell from what direction that the aircraft were approaching by what part of the sound mirror produced the most sound. The operator would then warn the local authorities of an imminent attack. By the early 1940’s sound detection technology was replaced by what is know known as radar.

Created by the Dutch design agency Springtime, the Bike Dispenser is a unique, environmentally friendly transportation option. For a little under $4.00 a day you can rent one of these bicycles, and there are no worries of having to return it back to the dispenser if you don’t want to. Each bicycle is tagged with an RFID so that the owner of the Bike Dispenser can locate all of the bicycles throughout the city and return them to the dispenser. So far these are only in Europe, but maybe some day they will make it to the United States. If anyone has seen, used, or has some pictures of one of these let me know and I will update this post.

The driver of this truck is one lucky person! If you notice up on the road where all the rescue people are standing is where this truck left the road. It apparently crashed through the guard rail, flew across the drainage pipe, and came to rest facing the way that it came. If that wasn’t enough to give most of us a heart attack, look at the next picture and see what that drainage pipe was draining into.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland has the distinction of having the largest vault door and the larges hinge ever built. This massive door weighs in at 42 metric tons, and has a height of 226 inches. That is over 19 feet high! Although this vault is no longer used, it remains inplace because of its historical value.

I bet all those computers running makes that room mighty toasty!
